More French businesses are now accepting bitcoin.

From huge shopping centers to renowned restaurants, an increasing number of businesses in France are now accepting Bitcoin as a form of payment.

Bouchon-comptoir Brunet, a bouchon — a type of restaurant unique to the Lyon region — is now a part of the rapidly expanding group.

In 2021, the eatery became the first in the city to accept Bitcoin as payment.

It now has a Bitcoin-specific section on its website with an explanation of why the bouchon uses BTC.

The restaurant's menu items are currently only available to BTC-paying customers, according to a report in Le Figaro, the country's largest newspaper, on October 21.

One of them is a unique bottle of the herbal liqueur Chartreuse called La Reine des liqueurs, which has a Bitcoin price of BTC 0.001 (currently just under $29 at the time of writing).

Since adopting BTC in 2021, the restaurant has proven to be popular with bitcoiners, according to the media outlet.

owner Benjamin Baldassini was quoted as saying:.

"[Our clients] are frequently strangers – travelers through the city [. [Who are aware that we accept this form of payment]. The reason they visit the restaurant is to [spend their BTC]. ".

By establishing a "Bitcoin aperitif" event that takes place on the first Wednesday of every month and allows "only BTC payments," the restaurant hopes to increase interest in BTC as a form of payment. ".

One of the city's crypto advocacy organizations is a co-organizer of the event.

On the bouchon's official website, there is a Bitcoin page.

Baldassini continued by stating that BTC was a "natural" method of payment for Lyon merchants, particularly bouchons.
